Andy Warhol Exhibition

The St. Petersburg Museum of Fine Arts will present an exhibition dedicated to out artist Andy Warhol beginning May 16. Andy Warhol Portfolios: Life and Legends will feature 72 screen prints, a Warhol specialty. The exhibit includes such classic Warhol images as Marilyn, Campbell’s Soup I (Cream of Mushroom), Superman, Muhammad Ali, Mickey Mouse, Uncle Sam, Santa Claus and Howdy Doody. Janis Ian

Grammy-Award winning singer and songwriter Janis Ian will perform favorites and new hits from her album Society’s Child at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater May 21 and 22 and at Orlando’s Plaza Theatre May 24. Ian, an open lesbian, was dubbed a "protest singer" in the 1970s but broke stereotype and continued a career as a singer and an author. The popular LGBT Christian Rock band Canaan will unveil some of its newest songs along with some past favorites during a live concert at Christ the Cornerstone Church at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, May 16. The concert is free, but the church will collect a love offering for the members.

The New York-by-way-of-Austin, Tex., emo hottie Dan Keyes is the mastermind of the electro-dance-rock outfit Young Love, which opened for Erasure on several of their stops last year.
