Chisholm Properties Circuit Events, LLC files for Chapter 7

Johnny Chisholm’s party promotion company filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in a Pensacola court. Chisholm Properties Circuit Events, LLC is best known for the “One Mighty Weekend” events during Orlando’s annual Gay Days. According to court papers, the company has assets less than $50,000 but owes at least $1,719,202 in debts. Outstanding creditors include the IRS and dozens of events-management related companies such as electrical contractors and rental companies.

Notable creditors include Disney Restort Destinations, claiming a debt of just under half a million dollars; Arabian Knights, where the annual Gay Days weekend after hours Magic Journeys party is hosted, claiming a debt of $48,000 and Universal Orlando, claiming a debt just under a quarter million dollars. Universal Orlando recently filed a lawsuit against Chisholm Properties Circuit Events, LLC.

Now that the bankruptcy paperwork has been filed, the next court deadline is October 21, when the clerk has requested some additional documents supporting the case. According to the deficiency notice, failure to file may result in the bankruptcy case being dismissed.

In the meantime, the investors who sued Chisholm and his company back in June are amending their motion to request a default judgment against the defendant, claiming he has not attained appropriate counsel after his attorney, Bruce Fehr, resigned. According to those documents: “Defendants have continued their antics as they attempt to abuse the judicial system and frustrate their victims. Defendants’ actions are a story of fraud and deceit…”

The paperwork also states: “what is developing is a series of lies and burned investors and lenders while Defendant Chisholm plays his shell games of hiding assets and funding losses through his series of cash-intensive businesses.”

The motion cites the current pending lawsuits and claims Chisholm or his entities are involved in three pending bankruptcies.

Calls to Chisholm’s attorneys for comment have not yet been returned.
