Orlando's new gay-friendly nightclub starts to take shape

After months of gossip and speculation, Mr. Sister’s part-owner Brian Humphries is ready to go public with some details about Orlando’s newest gay-friendly bar.

It’s located in a former car dealership on E. Colonial Ave. and could open its doors in as soon as a few months.

MrSis1_979100870.jpg“It’s probably going to be most technologically advanced nightclub in the state, maybe in the country, with the whole thing interfaced with customer interaction and social media,” Humphries said.

He would not comment on details like the size of the dance floor or the nightclub’s layout, but did get into some specifics about Mr. Sister’s restaurant aspect.

“Diners will be able to dine and drink on top of water—not overlooking, but suspended over water,” he said. “There’s nothing like it in Orange County.”

Pom Moongauklang, owner of Pom Pom’s Teahouse, is designing the menu.

“Nobody has the food profiles and taste she does,” Humphries said.
He said he’s working 12-hour days to get Mr. Sister’s opened, bringing his years of nightclub and restaurant experience to the project.

“I love to throw a party,” Humphries said. “I don’t look at myself as a bartender or club owner, I look at myself as a host, I love when people are having a good time at my place, and can’t wait to throw a party for Orlando that I’ll be in charge of.”

He said his goal is to bring fun back to nightlife, whether it’s gay or straight, calling Mr. Sister’s “the rebirth of fun in Orlando.”
