As we sit inside with the air conditioning cranked to avoid the sweltering heat of Florida’s dog days of summer, it’s nice to know that a very full lineup of entertainment is heading straight for us this fall. Yes, it’s time to look at the offerings theaters, galleries and music venues have lined up for the coming months and into early 2011.
Watermark presents its annual Fall Arts Guide, complete with several special selections we see as “Don’t Miss” opportunities. LGBTs are always on the cutting edge of arts and entertainment, so we know many of our readers don’t want to miss out on the biggest productions of the year.
As with years past, we’ve also highlighted a few of the local contributors to Florida’s LGBT arts scene. While there are many within our community who are involved in the arts, we offer a glimpse into the lives of just a few of those bringing art to life for us in 2010 and 2011.
Admittedly, the lists in the following pages aren’t 100% comprehensive, but they are geared toward our readership and include events and shows that have specific LGBT appeal. Visit the websites listed or our list at WatermarkOnline.com to ensure dates haven’t changed before you make your plans.
Enjoy the look ahead at the flood of entertainment coming our way. Maybe it’ll be just enough to distract you from that higher-than average electricity bill.
