More than 500 people participated in the SMARTRide in November, raising more than $475,000 to be distributed to HIV/AIDS support charities around the state. SMARTRide is a 165-mile bike ride from Miami to Key West. The beneficiary charities are: Broward House in Fort Lauderdale, The Center for Positive Connections in Miami, AIDS Help in Key West, Metropolitan Charities in Tampa, Miracle of Love in Orlando, and Comprehensive AIDS Program in West Palm Beach.
Checks will be presented in Wilton Manors on Jan. 8.
