Mayor Dyer declares ‘Everyone Matters’ in Orlando

Mayor Buddy Dyer declared April 2 to be “Everyone Matters Day” in the city of Orlando.

In a post on his Facebook page, Mayor Dyer stated “As Mayor of a community that is known worldwide for being a welcoming and inclusive place for everybody, regardless of race, religion or sexual orientation, I am pleased to declare today ‘Everyone Matters Day’ in the City of Orlando”.

The declaration goes on to say how proud Mayor Dyer is of Orlando for being a welcoming, multicultural community.

The declaration is a welcomed contrast to the discrimination bills that are moving through State Legislatures all over the country.

The full declaration reads:

“As Mayor of an international city, I am pleased to declare today “Everyone Matters Day” in Orlando. Our community is known worldwide for being a welcoming and inclusive place for everybody, regardless of race, religion or sexual orientation. Because we have and continue to embrace diversity, Orlando is at the forefront for attracting new businesses and residents. I am proud Orlando is a welcoming, multicultural community that people from across the country and globe want to call home.”
