The backlash to the marriage ruling is officially here, and it’s probably best to not engage. However, when the kids are brought into the picture, as Staver once again has made a fact via his blurred Polaroid of decency, it’s worth pointing out. This weekend, rightwingwatch.org published a recording of Staver telling it as he sees it.

“This has literally delegitimized the Supreme Court and we need to move forward and treat it as an illegitimate decision,” Staver said. “It’s not the rule of law. Neither will individuals nor should our government officials respect it as the rule of law, it is not.”
Staver’s quotes got more of the treatment from the Towleroad blog, which pointed out the talking points we’re all starting to see: Gays are the new Nazis, or something.
“Fearing that even those children ‘growing up in great Christian homes’ are beginning to question the homophobic posturing of Staver and co., he added that his followers should ‘abandon the public schools’ because ‘this is gonna be a flood of homosexual indoctrination, gender abolition indoctrination, sexual practice experimentation, risky behavior.’
“All this is gonna come on them like a flood,” he concluded in which “you’re gonna lose your children.”
