Leslie Jordan defends Starbucks patrons from homophobic men

In a move that would have made Karen Walker bounce with glee, Emmy award-winning actor Leslie Jordan – best known from Will & Grace and Sordid Lives – confronted three homophobic ranters and threw his drink in one of their faces.

At a Starbucks in West Hollywood known as an LGBT-frequented coffeehouse, three men came in yelling homophobic slurs at the patrons for no known reason.

“He was screaming and pointing ‘you will die fucking faggots’,” eyewitness Joseph Daniels told WeHoville. “It was very scary and unexpected.”

The manager approached the men and asked them to leave, but frequent visitor Jordan had his fill of the barbaric haters.

Daniels stated that Jordan approached the men and said “get out of my house.” The men left the Starbucks and Jordan, along with Daniels and another gay man, followed them outside.

“The guy lunged at Leslie to hit him,” Daniels said. “Then Leslie threw his drink at the guy.”

The sheriff deputies responded to the incident but urged the gay men not to file charges as the screaming men could accuse Jordan of assault for throwing his drink at them. Daniels said the three men then walked away, making obscene gestures to the gay men and continuing to call them “faggots.”

A report filed by deputies on the scene said “the deputies talked to all the persons. None of them were desirous of filing charges against another person.”
