Equality Florida knows how to put together a party and they proved that when they honored LGBT civil rights attorney Mary Bonauto and Asolo Repertory Theatre’s artistic director Michael Donald Edwards at the Suncoast Celebration in Sarasota Nov. 21.
Several hundred attendees gathered on the top floor of the Palm Avenue Parking Garage to mingle with guests, enjoy a full open bar and dine on food courtesy of Louie’s Modern by Tableside.
Guests watched on as Bonauto accepted the Lifetime Achievement Award and Edwards was given the Voice of Equality Award before hearing the State of the State address from Equality Florida co-founder and deputy director Stratton Pollitzer.
