Central Florida and Tampa Bay prep to eat, drink and be scary this Halloween

From the fierce to the freakish, Halloween is a celebration of self-expression. It’s a chance for those of any age, gender identity or sexual orientation to live exactly as they are—or should they choose, to become someone or something else entirely.

For those reasons and more, so many in the LGBTQ community have gravitated toward Halloween throughout its hallowed history. But deeper meanings aside, it’s also fun. How can you go wrong with costumes, candy, parties and puns? That’s why Watermark has summoned a list of some of 2018’s most scintillating spooks throughout Central Florida and Tampa Bay for you and your boo crew. We check in with Parliament House costume contest winners and tour the Tampa Theatre’s Nightmare on Franklin Street. We also bring you our staff’s favorite horror flicks for you to queue up—and if you’re boo’d up, suggest some same-sex couple costume ideas.

It’s time to get in the spirit for tricks and treats, ghoulfriends. This is Halloween!
