YouTuber Logan Paul is no stranger to controversy. Paul found himself in hot water last year after a video, which has since been taken down, went viral featuring Paul laughing at a suicide victim in Japan’s “suicide forest” Aokigahara.
On Jan. 9, Paul made waves once again after announcing that he would “go gay” for the month of March.
On their podcast “Impaulsive,” Paul and his co-host Mike Majlak revealed that their New Year’s resolution of 2019 would be to try something new each month.
“It’s male-only March. We’re going to attempt to go gay for just one month,” Paul says.
The “resolution” caused a stir, especially in the LGBTQ community. Many spoke out about Paul’s harmful statement on Twitter.
YouTuber Daniel Preda, who is openly gay, called Paul’s commentary disgusting. “He continues to be an awful representation of the YouTube community & shows he truly has learned NOTHING over the last year,” he wrote.

GLAAD, dedicated to promoting understanding, increasing acceptance and advancing equality for the LGBTQ community, advised Paul “that’s not how it works.”
