TAMPA BAY | Area entertainer Jay Miah will make his debut on FOX’s “Alter Ego” Sept. 29, performing as his digital character Nevaeh King on the network’s first-of-its-kind singing competition.

FOX bills “Alter Ego” as “the next iteration of the musical competition show.” The series premiered Sept. 22 and features competitors who create avatars using motion capture technology to “become the stars they’ve always wanted to be,” competing for the chance to win $100,000 and celebrity mentorship.

Miah is a trained vocalist and drag entertainer who performs throughout Tampa Bay. He previously appeared on season 17 of NBC’s “The Voice” and makes his debut on the show’s third episode as King.

Miah will perform digitally for industry veterans Alanis Morissette, Nick Lachey, will.i.am and Grimes as Rocsi Diaz hosts. His journey will begin with “Alter Ego’s” third group of contestants.

“My whole life I’ve had people try to put me in some pretty box,” Miah shares in a promo for the episode. “I carry my community and I want it more than ever to be able to represent us. The different. Them.”

Watch:

Miah’s Sept. 29  premiere will air on FOX from 9-10 p.m. EST. City Side Lounge, which Miah currently represents as Miss City Side, will host watch parties followed by karaoke each Wednesday from 8-10 p.m.
