PHOTOS: Orlando’s Dr. Phillips Center opens Steinmetz Hall

ORLANDO | Steinmetz Hall opened its doors to Central Floridians this passed week, officially marking the end of a 19-year journey to create a performing arts center in Orlando.

Named after philanthropists Chuck and Margery Pabst Steinmetz, the new theater was presented Jan. 14 during a presentation that included chairman and founding donor Jim Pugh, the Steinmetz’s, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings and U.S. Congresswoman Val Demings.

Attendees were presented with “Rise & Shine,” a one-night-only showcase and celebration of The City Beautiful’s diverse talent that included performances from 250 local performers.
