ORLANDO | Orlando Fringe showed off its new downtown venue, located in the former home of the Mad Cow Theatre at 54 W. Church St., with a big grand opening celebration Jan. 11.
Fringe ArtSpace is a 9,100 square-foot space that houses two performance theatres — a 166-seat mainstage and a 40-60-seat black box. The new venue will allow Orlando Fringe to showcase an array of theatrical shows, classes, workshops, concerts and more year-round.
The event was attended by Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, who assisted with the ribbon cutting, several city commissioners and many members of the local theatre community.
The actual ribbon cutting was done by WeFlip Entertainment’s Csaba Szilagyi, who cut a ribbon strung across the second story of the ArtSpace building with a very large pair of scissors from a stack of chairs.

Fringe ArtSpace is getting right to work, hosting Orlando Fringe’s seventh annual Winter Mini-Fest Jan. 12-15. Winter Mini-Fest is a four-day curated theatre festival with the best of past festivals, new works by fan favorites and brand-new artists scouted from the international Fringe circuit.
The space will also serve as two venues — purple and teal — for the Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival May 16-29. In between, they will host several shows from local performers including Blue Star and her VarieTEASE troupe, Beth Marshal, Descolonizarte TEATRO and more.
