ST. PETERSBURG | The Tampa Bay Rays held their 17th annual Pride Night June 10, losing 4-8 against the Texas Rangers but championing equality throughout the game.

Tropicana Field hosted a crowd of 18,932 Pride and sports enthusiasts this year, with a portion of certain ticket sales benefiting local nonprofits. The ceremonial first pitch was thrown by retired Major League Baseball umpire Dale Scott, who made history when he came out in 2014, and St Pete Pride was awarded a $10,000 grant ahead of this year’s 21st celebration.

“Proud to show our #Pride, here and everywhere,” the team shared via social media after the game. “As always, baseball is for everyone.”

Watermark was on hand to help celebrate. Read all about this year’s game and view our photos below.
