ST. PETERSBURG | Idina Menzel headlined St Pete Pride’s Friday Night Concert June 23 at Jannus Live, kicking off the celebration’s signature weekend of events.
The LGBTQ+ ally and icon performed music from her new album as well as her hits from the screen and stage. The evening featured her renditions of “Let It Go” from “Frozen,” “Defying Gravity” from “Wicked” and “No Day but Today” from “RENT.”
Activist and entertainer Angelique Young hosted the concert, which also featured Brianna Summers, Ashlee T. Bangkx, Girls Rock Camp St. Pete band Anarkitty, Queen Sheba Bethsheba A. Rem and St Pete Pride’s 2023 court: Miss St Pete Pride Ceazia Giovanni Kreshé , Mr St Pete Pride Mr. Vyn Suazion and Mx St Pete Pride KaMarion Lavish. Menzel’s set included introductions for each, culminating in a heartfelt bow.
