Equality Florida is launching a new resource for LGBTs to vote with their wallets.
The ePride Buying Guide identifies businesses that support LGBT equality. Users can search by city or category, online or using a mobile device or iPhone app, to get directions to LGBT-friendly businesses.
The online guide uses a color coded system to rate businesses. Green means the company has a fully inclusive nondiscrimination policy, yellow indicates incomplete data, and red means a business is not LGBT-supportive and may have backed anti-LGBT efforts.
Businesses that have a nondiscrimination policy including sexual orientation and gender identity are qualified, and Equality Florida will provide a simple policy for businesses that do not currently have a policy in place. Qualified businesses not currently listed can visit EQFL.org/ePrideGuide to register.
