New Church Family—formerly known as Hope MCC—has a newly ordained associate pastor. Rev. Susan McDaniels was ordained in a ceremony on Nov. 7 at the International Christian Community Churches (ICCC) annual Convocation held in Greenville, S.C.
McDaniels graduated from ICCC’s Emmaus Institute in 2009 after completing courses in Christian studies and ministry.
New Church Family is an inclusive Christian church that welcomes both gay and heterosexual people to its congregation.
McDaniels is active in gay organizations outside of the church, as well. She is vice president of the Greater Daytona Beach Business Guild and chairperson of OneDaytona, a coalition campaigning for gay equality and solidarity.
