Taste of Pride: Back in style at the Dali Museum

It's been two years since St. Pete Pride's Taste of Pride event featured the cuisine of restaurants from throughout the bay area. But now, the event returns with a larger presence and a new locationâ┚¬â€the brand new Dali Museum downtown.

The Taste of Pride is slated for Saturday, March 19, and will be the first LGBT event at the new museum, according to St. Pete Pride executive director Chris Rudisill.

â┚¬Å”We are excited to have this opportunity to bring Taste of Pride back, especially at such a wonderful venue,â┚¬Â Rudisill said. â┚¬Å”The excitement surrounding the Dali matches our excitement for 2011.â┚¬Â

Rudisill said that 15 restaurants are to be featured and Barefoot Wine and Bubbly will supply drinksâ┚¬â€including wine and craft brews.

The March 19 Taste of Pride is from 6-9 p.m. and is the first St. Pete Pride event of the year. Those attending will have a chance to win a Pride & Passion prize package, teasing to the organization's big May 21 event at the Tampa Museum of Art.

â┚¬Å”It's just another way that we're working to reach across the bridge and celebrate the partnership we have with Pride & Passion, which will serve as the Official Kick-Off Event for Pride Season in Tampa Bay this year,â┚¬Â Rudisill said.

Tickets for Taste of Pride are $35 in advance and are available at StPetePride.com. Tickets are $40 the day of the event and each entry includes up to 10 tastings of beer/wine selections. All proceeds benefit St. Pete Pride.

St. Pete Pride's annual Street Festival and promenade is Saturday, June 25.
