Dining Out For Life participation up
According to William Harper, Executive Director of the AIDS Service Association of Pinellas, participation in the 2011 Dining Out For Life event was up this year. While totals weren't immediately available, Harper did say that 17 more restaurants participated this year on both sides of Tampa Bay. Several ambassadors broke records with raffles and drawings, which accompanied the 25% of each dining bill donated by participating restaurants. Totals should be available by the end of May.
Local animal lover debuts on Discovery
For months fans of Scott Lope have awaited his debut on the Discovery Channel. Finally, on May 8, they got their wish. Wild Animal Rescue features the handsome Tampa resident and former Big Cat Rescue staple as he rescues exotic animals from inappropriate housing throughout the country. Wild Animal Repo airs 8 p.m. Sundays on the Discovery Channel.
