Orlando: Mr. Sisters going straight?

Orlando: Mr. Sisters going straight?

What a Knock Out
Last week, Mr. Sisters and Parliament House alum Jeff Munzig announced on Facebook that he and domestic partner Gregg have purchased their own bar; Knockouts Tavern in Merritt Island. The venue officially opened its doors March 26. â┚¬Å”I’m finally my own boss,â┚¬Â Munzig posted. â┚¬Å”I guess I finally have to grow up.â┚¬Â

It's a Sin
Speaking of Mr. Sisters, some of you may have seen work going on around the former Mr. Sisters location. Turns out, this is not part of the previously thought Sin Orlando concept that was thought to be opening in the location. Sin Orlando's Facebook page clarified. â┚¬Å”Thanks for following our page! The pre-existing business owners are trying to re-invent their previous concept as a straight bar,â┚¬Â they posted. â┚¬Å”Because of the politics, pending lawsuits against BDR entertainment (all public record) and other stop holds, we believe this space will once again become available. We are pursuing other location options but we are keeping an eye on the space. Do not be worried about location, as anything we pick will have taller ceilings to accommodate a mezzanine level, world class light/effect show and better parking.â┚¬Â
As of late, the staple pink exterior of the former MrSisters has been repainted and one poster noted, â┚¬Å”the club is called Off Limitsâ┚¬Â and is set to open soon.

Mondays With Martha
On Monday, March 26, Macy's at Millenia Mall heated up with a chili cook-off hosted by none other than domestic goddess and ultimate entrepreneur, Martha Stewart. This ultimate chili cook-off featured hunks with hoses from four Orlando fire stations competing for the â┚¬Å”Best Chili in Orlandoâ┚¬Â title. The participating fire stations included: Firehouse 11â┚¬â€Beast of the East Chili with head chef Firefighter Chris McKeon; Firehouse 12â┚¬â€Tailgate Chili with head chef Lt. Blaine Spurling; Firehouse 3â┚¬â€Rodney's Chili with head chef Firefighter Bradley Shanks; and Firehouse 1â┚¬â€Big House Chili with head chef Engineer Pat Kelly. During the competition, Martha chatted with the audience, shared stories, her own cooking secrets and highlighted her Martha Stewart Collection Enameled Cast Iron Cookware line, of which each fire station utilized to stir up their own chili recipes.

Not only did you get to bask in the magnificence that is Martha, the audience had the opportunity to sample Martha's own chili and cornbread. Joining Martha for the cook-off was Executive Director of Food and Entertaining at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Lucinda Scala Quinn.
