DAYTONA | Daytona’s LGBT community will join together for a reunion weekend, set for Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 at The Streamline Hotel and Lodge.
The theme is “Revisit, Reunite and Remember” and guests are expected to travel from around the country to commemorate 30 years. The weekend will end with The Billie Boots Memorial Benefit for Outreach, honoring the life of Billie Boots, one of the pioneers of HIV/AIDS benefits.
Boots had a 54-year career in entertainment and raised more than $200,000 in her name during a 20-year span. The memorial benefit will feature performances from volunteers and members of the local community and will raise money for Daytona’s Outreach Community Care Network, a non-profit HIV/AIDS service agency.
