Fort Lauderdale – The 19th Annual Hurricane Showdown softball tournament came to a screeching conclusion Thanksgiving weekend thanks to a deluge of wet weather impacting South Florida. Organizers cancelled the tournament on Sunday, after many games suffered delay of games the day before.
As of press time, the cancellation appeared to have prevented the tournament from declaring any official winners in any of the divisions. In fact, some teams weren’t even able to get more than one game in during official tournament play.
Teams from throughout the State of Florida and from as far away as New York City and Toronto, Canada, made the trip for this year’s wet tournament.
