The City of Punta Gorda could have a domestic partnership registry as early as April 2. The City Council unanimously approved the ordinance on a first reading March 19. Forty people attended the meeting to discuss the proposed registry, but no one spoke against it. The council opened up registration to anyone in Punta Gorda, not just residents.
