Deadbeat drag?
RuPaul’s Drag Race season 2 winner Tyra Sanchez wants to make a film called Drag Dad, documenting his life with his nine year old son. The problem is, according to TMZ, Sanchez, whose real name is James Ross, owes a lot of child support. According to TMZ’s sources, Sanchez has been asked to turn over financial records and sources also say that Sanchez has not paid any child support and rarely sees his son.
The film project had a Kickstarter account that raised more than $20,000 for the film with the help of 600 backers. That money could, however, end up going to owed child support.
Janine to Minj over Fringe
The talented Janine Klein is once again teaming up with Josh Eades-Brown, aka Ginger Minj. Klein recently posted she was invited to a “once in a lifetime performance” opportunity where she will perform in New York with Ginger Minj in an original production aptly titled, Crossdresser for Christ–The Musical at the Laurie Beacham Theatre.
In our recent interview with Ginger, we were told about this upcoming production but were asked to keep it under wraps…or is it duct tape? Janine has appeared with Minj in various shows over the years including Hedwig and the Angry Inch and 2013’s Rocky Horror Show, where they played Brad and Janet. Unfortunately, this opportunity conflicts with Klein’s scheduled Fringe performances and replacements have already been selected.
The May 22 and 23rd shows are almost sold out, so buy in advance at SpinCycleNYC.com.
Gone away from the MBA
In a recent email, the MBA has announced the opening of an operations manager position, which was up until very recently held by Brannan McNell. We reached out to Brennan as to why he was no longer in that position, but we didn’t get a response. In an email sent out on Monday, Nayte Carrick, President of the Board, did verify Brennan is no longer the Operations Manager.
He went on to say, “While Brennan is well liked and is a good friend to many of us, our organization has grown tremendously and so have our needs. As a board, it is our duty to make the best use of the resources to which we have been entrusted.” The MBA is currently accepting resumes for the position at info@MBAOrlando.org
