METRO Tampa Bay announced Nov. 23 that after more than three years with the organization, Chris Rudisill will be stepping down as the Director of LGBT Community Center Services, according to a press release.
Rudisill is credited as being an essential part of expanding METRO’s list of programs, as well as establishing the LGBT Welcome Center.
Rudisill will be the new Executive Director of Stonewall National Museum and Archives.
“This is a great opportunity for Chris and well deserved. He will be sorely missed here and in Tampa Bay, however we wish him much success,” METRO CEO Lorraine Langolis said in the press release.
The change not only takes Rudisill from METRO but also the Tampa Bay area as the Stonewall National Museum and Archives is located in Fort Lauderdale.
“While I will greatly miss the Tampa Bay community, I look forward to serving the greater LGBTQ community through the work of Stonewall National Museum and Archives, preserving our history and giving a voice to our movement,” Rudisill says. “I am filled with emotion from the heartfelt response to my departure and wish continued success for Metro.”
Rudisill leaves METRO Dec. 4.
