ORLANDO | GayDayS announced April 15 that it will not be moving forward with the summer events originally scheduled June 2-8 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, instead moving its celebration of the 30th anniversary of Gay Day at the Magic Kingdom to Halloween weekend.
“In partnership with our Gay Days Host Hotel, Margaritaville Resort, and adhering to the federal, state, local and CDC guidelines, we have rescheduled the Gay Days 30th Anniversary event to become Gay Days Halloween,” GayDayS President Chris Alexander-Manley said in a press release.
The official dates for GayDayS Halloween will be Oct. 27-Nov. 2.
Manley states that individuals who have already made reservations at Margaritaville Resort, one of the co-host hotels and/or have purchased advanced tickets to GayDayS events will be contacted directly to either rebook to GayDayS Halloween 2020, GayDayS 2021 or to get a refund. Anyone requesting a refund will not be charged refund fees.
No specific event details have been released as of yet for GayDayS Halloween.
GayDayS joins the growing list of Central Florida groups and organizations cancelling and postponing events including One Magical Weekend and Tidal Wave.
