Enzian Theater adds LGBTQ comedy ‘Straight Up’ to On Demand service

ORLANDO | Enzian Theater, Central Florida’s independent film cinema, announced April 24 that it’s added four new features to its list of On Demand films, including the LGBTQ-themed “Straight Up.”

“Straight Up” stars openly gay actor James Sweeney — who also wrote and directed the film — as Todd, a “hyper-articulate, obsessive compulsive gay twentysomething whose fear of dying alone leads him to a baffling conclusion: he might not be gay after all. When he meets Rory, a whip-smart struggling actress with her own set of insecurities played by Katie Findlay, the two forge a relationship that’s all talk and no sex.

“Straight Up,” which also stars Dana Drori, James Scully, Tracie Thoms, Betsy Brandt and Randall Park, joins “The Perfect Nanny,” “Pahokee” and “The Etruscan Smile” premiering on Enzian’s On Demand service. “Beanpole,” “Other Music,” “Dona Flor and Her Two Husbands” and “Extra Ordinary” will continue to be offered On Demand as well.

Enzian began offering an On Demand service last month after Orange County was placed under a Stay-At-Home order.

“We have partnered with film distributors to bring you great indie films on-demand that you can watch from the comfort of your own home,” Enzian stated in a press release. “We greatly appreciate your support and hope you enjoy these wonderful films.”

Film tickets can be purchased from Enzian’s website. Access to the film will be provided by the film’s distributor with a portion of each ticket sale going back to Enzian.
