ORLANDO | The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando announced changes to its upcoming FAIRWINDS Broadway series due to the uncertainty on the COVID-19 pandemic.
“To Kill a Mockingbird,” Dr. Phillips Center’s 2020-21 Broadway season opener, will be postponed to the 2021-22 Orlando season.
“The Cher Show,” which was the 2020-21 season closer, will also be rescheduled due to the national tour postponing its full run. In its place, the FAIRWINDS Broadway series will present the Tony-nominated “Jesus Christ Superstar.” The hit musical with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice will be celebrating its 50th anniversary.
“Jesus Christ Superstar” will be at the Dr. Phillips Center in Orlando June 15-20, 2021.
The remainder of Dr. Phillips Center’s 2020-21 Broadway series is currently still on schedule. The season will begin Nov. 24 with the Tony-winning musical “Tootsie.” For more information, visit OrlandoBroadway.com.
