Netflix announced via social media Nov. 10 that its popular superhero series, “The Umbrella Academy” will be returning to the streaming service for a third season.
“They’re not done yet! The Umbrella Academy Season 3 is officially happening!” the post stated along with a picture of the series’ season three logo.

Moments later, Netflix posted cast photos in a “Brady Bunch” style arrangement announcing that they would be available to subscribers as profile icons.

Based on the Dark Horse Comic of the same name, Netflix’s “The Umbrella Academy” stars Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher and Justin H. Min as a dysfunctional family of adopted sibling superheroes who reunite after the mysterious death of their father.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, production on the 10-episode third season will begin shooting in February in Toronto. No release date for the new season has been set by Netflix as of yet. The first season of “The Umbrella Academy” was released Feb. 15, 2019, with the second season released this past July 31. Both seasons are currently available to stream on Netflix.
