State of Gratitude awarded its third grant to Christian Douglas Rosales of Miami, Florida, after careful review by a grant committee comprised of appointed members within the recovery community from Miami, Los Angeles, New York City and San Antonio.

State of Gratitude, which was started in 2020 by Christopher Bilyk, is fashion-forward streetwear and activewear that aims to serve as a reminder to “live in a perpetual state of gratitude.”

The $500 grant was first awarded in August 2020 and thanks to the success of the brand and the need during COVID-19, the initiative has had the opportunity to award the grant two additional times.

Rosales has excelled in the past six months with his desire to get sober as well as overcoming the obstacles of losing both his job and possessions, according to a State of Gratitude press release. The new funds will allow Rosales to make the transition into a new apartment and acquire living essentials.

“Rosales is an inspiration and serves as an exemplary example of someone who has been able to turn their life into a source of hope and inspiration for others looking to follow his path,” Bilyk said. “We are truly grateful to be able to award Rosales with these funds and reward a truly deserving individual.”

The grant was also made possible thanks to Luis Jimenez, of Luisinmotion of Miami, for his contribution in proceeds from his Full Moon for Yoga and Meditation event. The organization focuses on “aiding and assisting” different Miami-based small businesses reach new heights and goals.
