U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and his husband Chasten spent their first Christmas holiday period together as a family with their infant twin children Joseph August and Penelope Rose along with his in-laws, Chasten’s parents, in Traverse City, Michigan.

“Sending best wishes for a Merry Christmas from our family to yours!” Buttigieg wrote to Instagram and Twitter with a photo of the family in front of a Christmas tree.

Buttigieg and his husband adopted the twins this past September although there were complications when their young son Joseph August was hospitalized for a non-coronavirus respiratory infection during the Halloween holiday period.

His husband also shared a Christmas holiday photo of the family dog, exclaiming “…And to all a good night!”
