Kevin Spacey has been charged with four counts of sexual assault against three men in the U.K., according to the Crown Prosecution Service.
“The CPS has authorised criminal charges against Kevin Spacey, 62, for four counts of sexual assault against three men,” Rosemary Ainslie, head of the CPS Special Crime Division, stated in the announcement of the charges May 26. “The CPS has also authorised one charge of causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent. The authority to charge follows a review of the evidence gathered by the Metropolitan Police in its investigation.”
The first accuser said Spacey committed two acts of sexual assault against him in March 2005 in London. The second claims Spacey sexually assaulted him, as well as caused him to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent, in August 2008 in London. The third accuser said in April 2013, Spacey sexually assaulted him in Gloucestershire.
With four counts of sexual assault and one count of causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent, the downfall of Spacey’s career continues to slip.
Claims against the two-time Oscar winner initially arose in October 2018 when actor Anthony Rapp alleged that Spacey made sexual advances against him in 1986 when Rapp was 14 and Spacey was 26. Following these allegations, Spacey came out as gay and apologized to Rapp in a tweet for his “drunken” behavior.

Shortly after news of Spacey’s alleged acts of assault came into light, The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences publicly announced the cancellation of its plans to award the actor with the 2017 International Emmy Founders Award in a tweet.

Just one month later in November, Netflix fired Spacey from his starring role in its show “House of Cards,” which he won a Golden Globe for, due to these allegations. The actor was also set to star in “All the Money in the World” but was replaced at the last second by Christopher Plummer.
