Creative City Project, the group behind some of Orlando’s most exciting shows over the last couple years including “Dragons & Fairies” and “Bright Young Things,” will present its next immersive experience, “Anthology,” at the Renaissance Theatre Company August 19-21.
“Anthology” is a performance featuring four writers’ original works, each paired with a custom cocktail designed to match the writers’ stories.
“We are thrilled to kick off our 2022-2023 season with the exciting return of Anthology,” said Creative City Project executive director Heide Evans. “Whether an individual is a lover of literature, cocktails or live music, Anthology has something for all. We are grateful to partner with Burrow Press again and spotlight their talented authors, and we hope everyone takes this immersive journey into fiction with us.”
This year’s “Anthology” performance features Burrow Press authors Teresa Carmody, Shane Hinton, Brianna Johnson and Melanie Farmer. Burrow Press is the literary publisher of Stetson University’s MFA of the Americas program. The program focuses primarily on collaboration, translation and literature. Burrow Press publishes award-winning poetry and prose three to four times a year in print and publishes work online weekly, providing thousands of opportunities for writers to share their work to the world.
“Anthology” is only for individuals aged 21 and older. Tickets are $35 per person and include four three-ounce cocktail tastings.
Creative City Project will continue its immersive art experiences this season with “Airplay” Oct. 1-30, “Dazzling Nights” Nov. 25-Jan. 1, “Neverland: The Lost Adventure” January-March 2023 and “Re:Charge” in April 2023.
Creative City Project began in 2012 by a group of street performers in Downtown Orlando. Now called IMMERSE, the goal of the project is to cultivate a thriving arts community in Central Florida, nurture a deeper sense of ownership for Orlando, and shape the perception of Orlando into one that honors innovation and creativity.
