CLEARWATER, Fla. | Hamburger Mary’s Clearwater confirmed its imminent closure March 6, detailing a finale weekend scheduled for March 8-12.
The restaurant is the last of the LGBTQ chain’s Tampa Bay locations. Hamburger Mary’s Tampa abruptly closed in in 2018, with both Hamburger Mary’s Brandon and St. Petersburg following suit the next year. While each of the four previously shared an owner, the Clearwater location was sold in 2018.
“Yes, all the Rumors are true,” Hamburger Mary’s Clearwater shared via social media. “[I]t’s our finale weekend at this location but please keep checking our facebook page for all the latest updates in regards to where you can see our amazing divas hitting a stage but for now book your table reservations on yelp and it’s sure to be a sold out weekend of drag shows and entertainment.”
Events include a “Wacky Wednesday Bingo” March 8 and “Drag Trivia Thursday” March 9, each hosted by Antwanette Roberts. The “Micro Mania Midget Wrestling Tour” will follow, leading into drag shows Saturday and Sunday.
Roberts will be joined by Delores T. Van-Cartier and Amanda D’Rhod March 11 for “Superstar Saturday” and a “Sunday Brunch with the Divas” will close out the weekend. Van-Cartier and Roberts will welcome Lady Janet for the restaurant’s final event.
Those who wish to attend are encouraged to call 727-400-6996 or visit Yelp to make a reservation.
“It’s so hard to say goodbye so instead we will say see you later,” the venue shared on social media. “Let’s eat, drink and be Mary!!!”
