For Pride Month, LA-based interior designer Ryan Saghian will be donating profits from his book, “Unapologetically Chic,” to JQ International, the premier organization for LGBTQ+ Jewish people.

Saghian has designed home interiors for rockstars and professional basketball players, gaining a following on Instagram of over 300,000. His work has been featured in Architectural Digest, Interiors California, Vogue, The Wall Street Journal and more. He received his degree in Interior Architecture and Design from the Art Institute of California and has built his career with bold designs, establishing his design firm at only 21 years old.

His book, “Unapologetically Chic,” details his experiences as a gay, Jewish, first-generation Iranian-American who was bullied as a teen. He said life was difficult growing up, struggling with his sexuality and self-worth. His love for design became his escape from his own harsh reality.

“With my book, I wanted to remind people that you can do anything,” says Saghian. “You don’t have to wait for someone to offer it to you. Get out there with your vision and execute it. I’ve always been about making things happen for yourself. That’s the big takeaway: Believe in yourself.”

Saghian created his own business, Ryan Saghian Home, that includes his own designs and collections of rugs, tiles, wallpaper and furniture collections. He has also collaborated with luxury brands to design his own collections of tableware, rugs, wallpaper, bedding and more.

Saghian said he will be donating the sales from his book during June to JQ International, an LA-based organization that celebrates the lives or Jewish LGBTQ+ individuals by building community, ensuring inclusion and providing support and wellness services.

“I don’t want to have to choose between my identities as a Jewish man and as a gay man,” says Saghian. “I support the vision of JQ, which wants to create a joyful, healthy future for LGBTQ+ Jews, our allies, and our loved ones.”
