His Spidey-sense must have been tingling.
The man behind the famous red masked won himself gay fans worldwide when he suggested that our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man could be into other men.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, actor Andrew Garfield said he was having a conversation with Matt Tolmach, the producer of “The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” about Mary Jane (also known as MJ) when the subject came up.
“I was kind of joking, but kind of not joking about MJ,” Garfield told EW. “And I was like, ‘What if MJ is a dude?’ Why can’t we discover that Peter is exploring his sexuality? It’s hardly even groundbreaking!”
He added that he has an idea for male Mary Jane: Michael B. Jordan, star of the Sundance buzz pic “Fruitvale Station.”
“It’d be even better,” Garfield said. “We’d have interracial bisexuality!”
What do you think? Would you like to see a gay Spider-Man?
