Glee will officially end after its sixth season.
At a Paley Center event Oct. 16, Glee creator Ryan Murphy said that the 6th season will be Glee’s last, and that he’s had to rethink the series finale after the death of Cory Monteith, the actor who played Finn.
Murphy told reporters that the final year of the show was designed around the romance between the characters Finn and Rachel, according to TVLine.com.
“I always knew that, I always knew how it would end. I knew what the last shot was, he was in it,” Murphy said. “I knew what the last line was, she said it to him. So when a tragedy like that happens you sort of have to pause and figure out what you want to do, so we’re figuring that out now.”
He added that he found a way to end it that he thinks the audience will find “satisfactory,” which also honors Monteith’s memory.
