Bay Nashville, Kansas City, New York and Pittsburgh are among the cities to be represented by softball players during the 17th Annual Gasparilla Softball Classic Tournament throughout Tampa Bay over President’s Day Weekend Feb. 18-20.
The annual tournament boasts a huge C-Division this year with 36 teams registered. The D-Division will see 26 teams take the fields and the B-Division has 10 teams registered.
Suncoast Softball League directors, who organize the tournament, are utilizing three fields throughout the Bay area for the weekend-long event.
B-Division play will be at the Greco fields in Tampa. C-Division players will take the fields at the Ed Radice Complex in North Tampa and D-Division players will play at the Woodlawn Fields in St. Petersburg.
Ppre-registration begins at City Side in Tampa on Thursday, Feb. 17, at 8 p.m. Early registration begins on Friday, Feb. 18 throughout Ybor City at 8 p.m. B-Division players can register at Streetcar Charlie’s; C-Division softballers can register at Hamburger Mary’s; and D-Division teams can sign in at Steam inside the Honey Pot.
Pool play begins on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 8 a.m. Regular tournament play is expected to start at noon for all divisions.
