St. Pete thanks Rays for â┚¬Å”It Gets Betterâ┚¬Â contribution
During its early October meeting, the St. Petersburg City Council thanked the Tampa Bay Rays for contributing to the anti-bullying â┚¬Å”It Gets Better Campaign.â┚¬Â The Major League Baseball team recorded their submission in September and it featured popular players B.J. Upton, Johnny Damon and manager Joe Maddon.
Dinner discusses faith and sexuality
A new, free program is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 14 at the Franciscan Center of Tampa to tackle the difficulties Catholic families face when a member comes out as LGBT. Father Jim Schexnayder of the Catholic Association for Lesian and Gay Ministry, will host the â┚¬Å”Setting the Tableâ┚¬Â at the center at 3010 N. Perry Ave. in Tampa beginning at 7 p.m.
