For several weeks, employees of New York Life Insurance's Tampa office played â┚¬Å”Penny warsâ┚¬ÂÂâ┚¬â€Âand to the spoils went Metro Wellness and Community Centers.
According to Arica Love, the employees raised more than $1,680 for Metroâ┚¬â€Âand all of it was donated as change.
â┚¬Å”When I picked up the donation my car was really sagging,â┚¬Â Love laughed. â┚¬Å”I had to drive across the Howard Frankland Bridge at 45mph because my car was so weighed down.â┚¬ÂÂ
New York Life plans on holding more fundraisers to benefit Metro Wellness and Community Centers, which has locations in Tampa, St. Petersburg and New Port Richey.
