To some, Man 1, Bank 0 (M1B0) is a modern-day Robin Hood story that will resonate with audience members still struggling in the fallout of the Great Recession and Wall Street bailouts. To others, Patrick Combs’ one-man show about how First Interstate Bank erroneously cashed a junk mail check he jokingly deposited in an ATM is a story of fraud and consumer recklessness on Combs’ part. Either way, M1BO is a thrill ride worth paying for just to see how such an unbelievable tale plays out on stage.
Combs does not disappoint either as he enthralls the audience in his play-by-play narrative full of twists, turns and green-back dollar ridiculousness. Combs’ charisma and knack for comic timing will have you rolling on the floor in laughter and rooting for him to the very end as the little guy tries to prove a point to Corporate America that no person or company is “too big to fail.”
