ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) – A suspect has been arrested in connection with the Thanksgiving morning shooting at a bar popular with Albany’s LGBTQ community that left one man dead and three wounded.
Police say the suspect was taken into custody Dec. 5 on a charge unrelated to the Nov. 24 shooting at Rocks on Central Avenue. The suspect’s name hasn’t been released.
Twenty-six-year-old Wendell Hill Jr. was fatally shot and three other people were injured when the gunman opened fire inside the crowded club.
Police have ruled out the possibility that the crime was a bias incident.
Investigators believe Hill was familiar with the suspect, who was allegedly out to settle a personal score.
A Troy police spokesman says Hill had a criminal record and was a member of a street gang in the nearby Rensselaer County city.
