#JussieSmollett @JussieSmollett from one Black Gay Jewish man to another,I see you.People don't think we are here and real.We represent the heart of academia, the arts,American creativity even while we are marginalized and mocked and sometimes attack. But we will not be invisible.

As I go to sleep tonight, I’m thinking about @JussieSmollett. He is a light in this world that I’m praying is not dimmed by the racism and bigotry that is dividing us. Holding my LGBTQ family close to my heart tonight. I hope you all are. ❤️ pic.twitter.com/lowE6l3KPU

Can we get anyone in the Trump orbit to condemn the 2 MAGA men who brutally attacked Jussie Smollett, a gay black man, and put his head in a noose while saying “This is MAGA country,” so others don’t feel like your silence is legitimizing hate? How about you @realDonaldTrump?

Sending love and healing energy to @JussieSmollett ❤️ I can't stop thinking about how this racially charged homophobic attack isn't an anomaly. It happens too often & I'm tired. Sick and tired. And angry. But I must persist. And I want justice.

Disgusted by the ugly prejudice and bigotry behind this violence. Sending love to @JussieSmollett & to anyone that has been hurt by the hatred of those who fear difference. As a society, we continue to fail LGBTQIA+ communities and PoC. pic.twitter.com/FFRPIbhOip

“LGBTQ people are too sensitive”
“Do people really need to see gay characters?”
“It’s just a cake, go buy one from someone else”All these types of things are said to minimize LGBTQ experiences so that violent actions like this one against queer people get swept under the rug. https://t.co/c1TUzwbaNE
