ST. PETERSBURG | G St Pete shared Aug. 19 that they will close Aug. 24, just three weeks after celebrating their one-year anniversary.
“We are sad to announce that this coming weekend at G. St. Pete will be our final weekend,” they advised via social media. “We love St. Pete but just couldn’t make it work in our location.”
The Florida Entertainment Group opened G St Pete in downtown St. Petersburg Aug. 4, 2018. It was the latest venture by Ernie Webb, Steve Donahue and Stephen Moss, the trio behind Ybor’s The Honey Pot and G. Bar.
Thanking patrons for the fun, the LGBTQ establishment called on the community to “come say goodbye to our dedicated staff and dance with us one last time” this Friday, Aug. 23 and Saturday, Aug. 24. Tampa Bay entertainers Amy Demilo, Alisa Summers and Amanda D’Rhod will perform on G’s closing night beginning at 11 p.m.
“Definitely a sad time but it’s the best decision,” Webb tells Watermark. “We’ve made a lot of friends and really love St. Pete. Unfortunately we just couldn’t make it work. The 24th will be the final day open.”

The news follows the closure of Flamingo Resort, another LGBTQ hotspot in St. Petersburg which closed its doors last month. Tampa Bay’s Hamburger Mary’s Brandon and St. Petersburg also closed in March.
