“Élite,” an original Netflix Spanish thriller/teen drama series created by Carlos Moreno and Darío Madrona, launched on the popular streaming service in October 2018 and has grown in popularity with each season drop. The latest season was released June 18 has seen the number of queer romances on the series skyrocket.
The story follows students in Las Encinas, which is an elite, expensive and private fictional secondary school where romances are always stirring and the drama builds to a climax that that eventually leads to murder.
Season four features the fan-favorite romance between Omar and Ander as well as a few new characters whose relationships are making this season a must watch. While the show focused on steamy LGBTQ storylines that include a gay threesome and a Sapphic romance, this season has taken the time to really focus on the romantic aspect of the queer characters.

Although the romance is bringing a lot of viewers to the show, the mystery aspect is what has them binge-watching. Each season features flashforwards showing a character who has been killed, then throughout the season, fans are left trying to figure out who is the murderer.
All four seasons of “Élite” are available to stream on Netflix.
