TRAILER: ‘Cinderella’ stars Camila Cabello and ‘Fabulous Godmother’ Billy Porter

Amazon released the trailer to its upcoming adaptation of “Cinderella” Aug. 3, which stars Camila Cabello and Billy Porter in a new musical edition of the classic fairy tale.

Set to release Sept. 3, the film is written and directed by Kay Cannon. It is a modern take that follows Cabello’s Ella and her dream of owning her own dress business.

Cabello lives with her stepmother (Idina Menzel) and stepsisters in the film. She gets help from a Fabulous Godmother (Billy Porter) and meets Prince Robert (Nicholas Galitzine) in the process.

Cannon, who wrote the three “Pitch Perfect” films, is no stranger to writing and directing films with flair. “Cinderella” also stars Minnie Driver, James Corden and Pierce Brosnan.

There seems to be no better fit for the role of Cinderella than Cabello. The pop star is a singer and songwriter is known for her role in the band, Fifth Harmony. In 2018 she debuted her solo album that was number one worldwide at one point. The film is her feature debut.
