ORLANDO | Lion Financial, the Miami-based firm that took ownership of the former site of the Parliament House in 2020, has filed development plans with the City of Orlando to create apartment homes, according to Bungalower.
The nearly 21-acre property, located at 410 N. Orange Blossom Trail, would be called Lion Gardens Apartments, according to the city website, and consist of 312 apartment units in three separate 4-story buildings.
Parliament House, one of the best-known LGBTQ clubs in the U.S., was located at 410 N. Orange Blossom Trail for more than 45 years. Lion Financial purchased the property in February 2020 operating as Parliament House’s landlord. They took ownership of the property Nov. 3, 2020 and tore down the complex in January 2021.
Parliament House announced via Facebook July 29 that the famous nightclub would be reopening in the old CityArts Factory location in downtown Orlando. No opening day has been announced but updates on construction of the new location have appeared on its social media over the last several months.
As for the new apartments, Lion Financial filed the application Oct. 25 and has a tentative hearing date to have the project reviewed set for Dec. 21.
