“RuPaul’s Drag Race” alum Shangela, the Orlando-raised Wayne Brady and more fan favorite celebrities are joining the “Dancing with the Stars” as the series makes its way to Disney+ for its 31st season.
The news was announced during Disney+ Day, which celebrates the Walt Disney Company’s many properties. “DWTS” will become the first live series to debut on its streaming service Sept. 19.
“The series, hosted by supermodel and businesswoman Tyra Banks and new co-host, actor and television personality Alfonso Ribeiro, returns to the ballroom with a lineup of celebrities including a platinum recording artist, a Real Housewife, a Bachelorette and a drag queen superstar, to name a few,” Disney shared in a press release.
Notably, Shangela will become the first drag entertainer to compete on the American version of the series. Watch the cast announcement below:

“The pairs will be judged by a panel of renowned ballroom experts, including Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough,” Disney added.
