We have reached the final battle in our “March Fabness”search to find the Ultimate LGBTQ Anthem.
After 32 combatants, we are down to two. No more male vocals, no more harmonizing groups and no slow ditties either. We have two strong, female voices who are solo acts with anthems that make you want to hit the dance floor. The disco survivor vs. the mother monster. Gaynor vs. Gaga. “I Will Survive” vs. “Born This Way.”
We added videos of these divas doing their anthems live, so give them a listen and know that no matter gay, straight, or bi, lesbian, transgender life; and if you spent oh so many nights just feeling sorry for yourself and you used to cry, now you can hold your head up high because you will survive, ’cause baby you were born that way.
Voting begins now and will end Tuesday, April 4 at 5:00 P.M.
And here we go!
Gloria (Gloria) we thought they had your number (Gloria), but you’re a survivor, aren’t you? You’re not gon’ give up and you’re not gon’ stop until you take the championship home. Gaynor’s “I Will Survive” parted the stormy clouds of The Weather Girls’ “It’s Raining Men” as the pectoral precipitation was removed from the forecast and the masculine monsoon was told go on now, go. Walk out the door. Just turn around now ’cause you ain’t welcome anymore.
Sister Sledge came into the Final Four with family in tow but even with all their sisters with them they were not keeping this mother monster in the closet. Ro mah ro-mah-mah Gaga oh-la-la was not letting any bad romance keep her from being in the final two in this just dance. Gaga heard nothing but the applause of her lil monsters as she left the Sisters speechless, now she stands on the edge of glory, eye-to-eye with Gloria (Gloria), comparing disco sticks. Now, it’s just you and I.
